We are called to BUILD OUR HOUSE, not control it.

Hi. It’s Jenna. 🤍 the imperfect woman, mama, wife, friend, sister, daughter behind @wise.womanco that prays my transparency and sharing of my journey helps to plant seeds and encourage others to keep pressing into God, despite their feelings of inadequacy. it’s a lot easier to share a chapter of your story once it’s ended, but I’m gonna share one I’m still writing... the other side of anxiety is often fed by lack of control and fear. last year, I spent a lot of time battling this. and when kept unchecked, can pop up. it’s the mama bear mentality that’s really hard to shut off. control of your house. control of your children. safety. protection. security. it’s a lot to put on ourselves at all times. in all circumstances. in all the unknowns. and honestly down right energy sucking and not what God wants from us at all. He asks that we BUILD OUR HOUSE, not CONTROL them. (and we need to understand the difference) at the beginning of last year, I got a small tattoo that said “release”, and honestly... what I thought I needed to release, and what God started working on me to release was completely different. it was my invitation and confession to Him that I wanted to let things go... but what I didn’t realize was that the things I needed to let go had nothing to do with things, people, plans... it had to do with releasing the control and fear I was dealing with in my life that were completely out of my control. I needed to quit fighting upstream against my purpose and what I was supposed to be focusing on. the world. my husband’s safety. my daughter becoming an adult. the health of my youngest. our home. our finances. none of it is my job to carry. He is the one driving the bus, I just had to realize I’ve gotta stop trying to back seat drive. so for anyone battling with this struggle, repeat this truth... // God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.// 2 Timothy 1:7 As wise women, we are called to take captive of our thoughts, exercise our God give power over them, and respond with the self discipline of our faith and understanding that God is in control of ALL of it. Not some...ALL 🤍
